All-adults Rogue River rafting trip featuring "signature" martinis

This August 29 - 31 trip has got to be one of
the most unique Rogue River special adventure trips that we have
ever offered. It combines a first-class Oregon rafting experience
(us) with a first-class southern Oregon micro-distillary (Organic
Nation Spirits) paired with unbelievable multi-course dinner menus.
This 3-day, 2-night lodge-to-lodge trip is an all-adults rafting
trip.
Cost is $1040/adult and includes all meals (from lunch the first
day thru lunch the last day), gear (inflatable kayaks are free of
charge), guides, government fees, lodging (double occupancy-private
cabins with private baths), shuttle from the take-out to your
vehicle at trip's end, and of course, wonderful "Rogue River
Signature" martinis each evening at the two different lodges. Diane
& David, owners of Organic Nation Spirits, will be your hosts
and mixology experts. Chef Matt Morse will be back to cook up the
memorable meals that will accompany the evening's spirits.
A little history on Diane, Dave & Organic Nation
Spirits....
Diane and David came to a distilling career in a circuitous way.
First, they fell in love in 2004 over several martinis. Then, over
a vodka martini during the summer of 2006, they decided they wanted
to make their own vodka. And it would have to be organic vodka! So,
they instituted their own training program by visiting as many
micro-distilleries as they could in Oregon--meeting some great
people who since have become great friends. After a year of getting
the myriad of legal aspects taken care of, they ran an ad in the
American Distiller's Institutes e-newsletter for a Master
Distiller. Thomas McKenzie, of Alabama fame and fortune, who was
weaned by the 'Moonshiners' of the early 1900's, replied to the ad
and in his smooth southern accent and effervesence style convinced
them that they should hire him. And they feel fortunate to have
done so! So, in February of '08, Thomas flew out and moved in with
Diane and Dave for three weeks. And for three weeks, the trio
worked every single day, Saturdays and Sundays included. He taught
Diane and Dave so many things that one cannot learn in a book or at
a workshop. Thomas is truly a genius when it comes to making
excellent, superior, tasty spirits. Looking back, they had no idea
what they were getting into. They did not have any idea that what
they were really starting was a manufacturing business. Since then,
ONS has done business with box, bottle, cork and label brokers to
mention a few. The company has worked with the federal, state and
local governments for licensing. And, they have had more than their
share of good fortune and good friends giving us good advice. The
rest is history in the making.

"As a mom and pop micro-distillery, we're thrilled that both our vodka and gin brought the silver home to Oregon," shares Diane Paulson, president of Cascade Peak Spirits located in Ashland, Oregon. "Next year, we're going for a gold rush!"
